Dr. Yves Talbot, Canadian Project Director Department of Family and Community Medicine, University of Toronto
He is a Family Physician, Professor at the Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) and the Department of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation (HPME) in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Currently, Dr. Talbot is the Director of International Program at DFCM. Dr. Talbot has co-authored the book "Teaching in Ambulatory Care." Since August 1995, he has been involved with Programs of Capacity Building in Primary Care in Brazil and other countries in South America. During this period, Dr. Talbot was responsible for the professional development of more than 4000 health care professionals of family health teams in South America in primary health care. From 2002 to 2004, Dr. Talbot served as President of the International Society of Equity and Health. He has also served on the Ontario Committee for Primary Health Care Reform. He is currently a member of the Janus Steering Committee of the College of Family Physicians of Canada which is looking at family physicians serving as a resource for their communities.
